My Midterm Reflection

Looking back on the first day of reading methods, I remember I was scared and nervous. The course requirements were overwhelming for me and I thought to myself, “How am I going to keep up with all these assignments?” But as the days went by, I was able to keep up with all the requirements for class, such as attendance, participation, and assignments.
This course has made me grow into a better student and person; because I am able to take the knowledge (i.e. basic theories and different approaches in teaching reading to children) that I have learned and apply it one day in my classroom. I will continue to do my best to keep up with all of the assignments, participation, and attendance. I look forward to what the rest of the semester has to offer and cannot wait to learn more about teaching reading to children.

  1. I remember how overwhelmed I felt on the first day of class! But looking back at the past assignments we have done, it is nothing we can't handle! I'm excited to take all the strategies and activities we have learned thus far and apply it as you mentioned you will do once you have a class of your own!

  2. Angela, you have always been such a determined and focused student! I agree with you that the first day seemed very intimidating, but that usually happens in the beginning of the semester. I feel that once we understood what was expected from us, we were good to go (as proven by all your wonderful ideas and presentations). I look forward to learning much much more from you and all our classmates!

  3. I felt the same way Angela. I wasn't sure if I could keep up with all the assignments, but I got the hang of things and it became much easier. I think it was from everyone helping eachother out and that's what I like about our class is that we all help eachother and we make the class fun and interesting.
