Today's readings was on using language and literature in the classroom. Which is the base of
learning. Communication, listening, and feed back are where it starts. Keeping our students involved and interested in the topic is important and can become a big factor if the students are not interested. Have our students express what they think about the lessons or stories we are going over is very important and that is has been stressed in the readings. The importance of involvement for both the teachers and the students. The ideas that were shared can help improve our class management, class participation, and student skills.
Hey Rhea, having students interested in what is being taught or read to them is very important. I agree that communication is the key and having that feed back from the students is very important because it tells us where the students are at and allows us to help them in areas that need improvement.
ReplyDeleteI agree that having our students express their interests plays a huge role in our lessons and what we choose to expose them to. It is useless reading or delivering a lesson in a fashion where the students do not enjoy or take interest in. I also agree that this can cause some classroom managements issues.
ReplyDeleteI was just commenting on Evin's post that we need to change student's attitudes about reading. I have yet to observe a teacher who truly makes reading fun for the students (I may be observing the wrong teachers). If we make it a goal to help children understand the importance AND fun in reading, we can help students succeed.
