Professional Article
Today's sharing of professional articles was very interesting. I enjoyed listening to everyone's articles, especially because it was good to keep tabs on current research. My article was: "A Breakthrough for Josh: How Use of an iPad Facilitated Reading Improvement" by Barbara McClanahan, Kristen Williams, Ed Kennedy, and Susan Tate. The article is about how the iPad helped to improve reading skills for a 5th grade student with ADHD. I thought it was important to think about different ways to help students with disabilities. Evin and Rhea also shared similar technology articles, which shows that technology is becoming more and more a part of educational environments. With all the articles, we were able to share our ideas and thoughts. It was a really good class discussion. I look forward to next week's class when we will share technology tools and hopefully hear about some practicum experiences. Have a good weekend everyone!

It was so funny how the three of us had technology based articles. I thought that your article was interesting as well as everyone else's.
ReplyDeleteHey Rachel, I agree that technology is becoming more a part of the educational environment. Also we do need to keep in mind our students with special needs and find ways to enhance literacy with them and not just with our regular class.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear what everyone has to say with their technology tools too. You, Rhea and Evin already jumped the gun on that, but you're right, It is because technology is becoming more apparent. We are in the digital era, we just have to embrace these tools, and learn how to use it in our classrooms.
