Philosophies

Today everyone presented their teaching philosophies. It was so surprising how everyone had similar ideas, such as acceptance, collaboration, preparation, inclusion, and keeping lesson plans new and fresh. After hearing what everyone had to say, I am so proud to say that we have all came a long throughout the course of this class. For the last part of class we wrote 3 positive things about each other, and we shared it. I really liked how we did this. This was the first time I have ever done this activity. I want to do this in my future classroom. This activity ended today's class session on such a positive note.

Thank you everyone for all your positive notes, it truly meant a lot to me!!

  1. You are welcome Amanda! I wasn't too surprised that we had similar beliefs since we all are now more familiar about what needs to be done to help our students learn to read. We have definitely come a long way and learned so much. With that said, let's continue to support and help each other. You all were my teachers as well!

  2. Thank you Amanda for sharing your philosophy and your beliefs about the teaching of reading in the classroom. I like how you mentioned that parents should also partake in professional staff development day in order to strengthen student weaknesses. All your ideas are great and you are going to do great things, keep it up!
